Raffle Prize 1 – Prime Season, Rifle Bull Elk Hunt at Rancho Lobo in New Mexico

Guided Bull Elk Hunt On Rancho Lobo Near Chama, New Mexico.

Experience the hunt of a lifetime at famed Rancho Lobo near Chama, New Mexico. One hunter and one guest will have exclusive access to 8,500 acres of prime elk habitat for a fully-guided, five day/six night trophy bull elk hunt. You and your hunting partner will get to choose any five consecutive days between October 14th and November 14th, 2017. Rancho Lobo will provide complimentary lodging on the ranch (subject to availability), a ranch vehicle and will skin, quarter and debone your elk for you. You will have seven (7) days from the date of drawing (July 15, 2017) to decide the dates of your trip. You will be responsible for purchasing a New Mexico hunting license.

Why is this such a unique opportunity?

The majority of New Mexico Game Management Unit (GMU) 4 (where Rancho Lobo is located) is privately held land. The only public draw opportunities to hunt Unit 4 are in the Sargent, Humphries and Rio Chama Wilderness Management Areas, and these 115 hard-to-draw tags are available only to New Mexico residents. The only other way to hunt this area is to go through an outfitter, which can easily cost between $5,000-$15,000, or secure a landowner permit, which will also run in the thousands if you can find one.

Rancho Lobo is primarily owned by Jack Brittingham and is featured in many of his hunting videos on This is some of the best elk habitat in the state. The average bull harvested on Rancho Lobo is about 7 years old, and scores typically range between 280-320, with the ranch record being 350. Only 10-15 people have the opportunity to hunt this invite-only ranch each year, and you can be sure that the wise old, trophy class bulls are aware of the low hunting pressure on these 8,500 acres. If you choose to hunt early October, chances are good that the bulls will still be bugling and screaming from the ridge tops. Former ranch manager and guide Aaron Jones describes Rancho Lobo as “prime elk habitat. There are so many elk here that 5 days on this ranch will provide more elk encounters than most people will get in a lifetime.”
