Caleb Stotts

Executive Director

Caleb has spent more than a decade in private lands conservation, managing a family ranch and working as a tree removal contractor. Using ecologically-based grazing strategies, tree thinning, and prescribed fire, his ranch stewardship work was distinguished with multiple conservation awards. Caleb was honored to serve as chair of the Tallgrass Legacy Alliance, a widely respected organization that promotes rangeland conservation in the last large tracts of tallgrass prairie and oak savanna.

Prior to working in private lands, Caleb worked for the US Fish and Wildlife Service and US Forest Service, fighting fires throughout the West. Prior to working with the Chama Peak Land Alliance, he worked as a program coordinator for the Ecological Restoration Institute at Northern Arizona University, where he worked to communicate forest restoration science and provide technical assistance to land managers in the Southwest. He has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies, and is finishing a Masters of Forestry at Northern Arizona University.
